Now, a social network for bookworms

Penguin is set to launch a social network for teenaged bookworms called Spinebreakers, to keep them interested in reading.
It is in beta now,  it is expected to be launched within six months.

When will we change?

A major scam hit the Commonwealth Games this week with allegations being made that a substantial sum of money was transferred to a little known U.K. company from the Games Organising Committee (OC) about which the British government has raised questions.

Television channels reported that over £ 4.50 lakh were transferred through a British bank to the A M Films company, said to be a one man show and which was also receiving £ 25,000 a month.

This nineteenth Commonwealth Games (ranks second after Olympics as the largest sorting event worldwide) are planned to be held in India this time. This is the time we get attention from other countries in the world.

But what are we doing? We are using this rare/great opportunity to fill our bags. We don’t care about nation’s pride, we don’t care about people, we want only money, through any means…..

Ours will be a ‘developing’ nation forever if we continue like this….we have to ask ourselves these questions…How are our neighboring countries are developed ones though they have less manpower, land, natural resources compared to us.

For everything there is an end as well as a new beginning… yesterday I remembered this once again. We had a farewell party last night…..one of my colleagues was leaving the company.

India is 88th best country to live

Now India is 88th best country to live in world,  leaving behind nations like Russia and China, according to a survey, published by travel magazine International Living.  India was the fourth best country in South Asia after Bhutan, Maldives and Sri Lanka.  The index ranks 194 nations considering nine categories: cost of living, culture and leisure, economy, environment, freedom, health, infrastructure, safety and risk, and climate. Though this 88th position is 35 places ahead of what India was in 2008, still very long way to go.

Overall, France topped the poll for the fifth consecutive year, followed by Australia, Switzerland, and Germany. The US lost four positions to end at seventh. Sweden has been dubbed as the costliest country in the world to live by the index.

4th Generaton Apple iPhone, probably in 3rd quarter of 2010 with 5-MP cam

Camera for Apple iPhone versions are getting better after every release. It was a 2-megapixel camera without video recording earlier for iPhone 3G, which now is 3.2-megapixel in the iPhone 3GS which also helps you record videos. And the latest rumors are that there might be 5-megapixel CMOS image sensors for the 4th generation iPhones that are to be released this year, probably the 3rd quarter of 2010. This small indication can show us what the next coming iPhone has in its pack for the users.
